Idea
Original Ideas
To start off with, my general idea was that I wanted to make a game that had
somewhat real life parallels, and not just a fantasy game, where everything
is possible, Like falling enemies and so on. So I started off creating a few
ideas from our school day.
The very first ideas I had we created using word association technics, where
we had a long list of words, and had to connect them to each other, where
the word "Microsoft Teams" stood out to me instantly.
Choice of Style
To begin with, I wanted to make something stylized and wanted to go for something I'd find pretty, but quickly figured out that if I wanted to make something that I would feel would be good enough in the time period we were given, I would never have finished in time. So I went for a more realitic approach, with simple style and no faces.
Final Approach
So with my style and idea decided, I started working on the general idea and
layout of my game. I wanted it to take place on a screen as everyone who
ever used Microsoft Teams should know how sitting infront of the screen
feels. So it would wake a familiar feeling while playing the game.
I began thinking about what the most annoying things were during such a
meeting, and that was when the professors talked about how they would really
prefer if we turned on our cameras, and that was when it hit me. You would
be playing as a teacher, having to make sure all the pupils always have
their camera on when in the call!
